matt proposed to allison. she said yes.
engagements are funny. back in the days of yore, a girl's family would trade, like, 100 goats or something as a dowry in exchange for a marriage contract.
somewhere along the way (in western cultures, anyway), the goats got kicked to the curb and love took center stage. although families don't trade goats anymore, there is still a lot that is exchanged between families when a man and a woman are promised to one another.
as a family, we promise to provide laughter.

as a family, we promise to provide love.

as a family, we promise to provide our own brand of crazy.

allison and matt, on behalf of all of the rays, we love you. we could not be more excited for this new chapter in our family scrap book.
this is so much better than 100 goats.

Congrats to them and your family!
ReplyDeletewe have no goats. yikes! just a fourteen year old jack russell that claire wouldn't let us part with, i'm sure. but, if we did, we would pony up ga-jillions of them! we love your brother and the happiness they bring to one another. congratulations to all the rays!
ReplyDeleteYEAH for Matt and Allison! That is so exciting! Allison is one lucky girl to be marrying into the Ray family. Unfortunately my favorite Ray is a female so my odds of getting into the fam were slim. Happy engagement to the engaged couple!
