here i am.

i went away again.  i have no excuses.  no reasons.  i didn't go on walkabout.  i just got lazy (shocker).  but i miss you and i miss writing, so will you go out with me again?  i thought about making some sort of new year's resolution that involved writing more, but resolutions sort of overwhelm me and don't usually work out that well.  i can't even count the number of times i've resolved to commit to a deep and personal relationship with a treadmill.  and we all know how that turned out.  in the end, i just ended up really sweaty and going nowhere.  kind of like when i attempt mental math.

for those of you who think i will blog everyday...

but i do pinky swear to check in with you more frequently.

moving on.

the last time we talked, i told you about the cookie project.  as far as projects go, this one has been delicious.  i have baked 17 weeks worth of cookies.  that's about a trillion cups of sugar and a bagillion sticks of butter.  and don't even get me started on the caloric intake.  i can't count that high.  but it's been fun.  i like waking up on sunday morning and knowing that i'll spend the morning trying a new recipe.  some of the cookies have been better than others, but all of them have been a delicious start to the work week.

for those of you who would like to start your own cookie project (or if you'd simply prefer to go on a cookie bender), here are the recipes i've used so far:

apparently all that sugar has gone to my brain because i can't remember 4 of the recipes.

so sue me.

and since it's been a while since we've caught up with each other, this is how i've spend my time these past few months:

obsessing over homeland.

following jenelle (of teen mom fame) and her boyfriend/husband/ex-husband/idk, courtland, on every form of social media.

watching this awesome flash mob performed by the polish cast of les miserables...

...and then comparing it to this TERRIBLE les miserables flash mob.  you have to watch them both.  just do it.

aaaaaand watching this infomercial over and over and over.  could that guy please yell "ouch!" louder?!  i die.  hands down the highlight of my 2012.
