scenes from a girls' shopping weekend.

my mom, lindsey and i spent this past weekend on our annual christmas shopping trip. for deets on last year's trip, read all about it here and here. we ventured over to the exotic land of eastern michigan to shop, laugh, and eat. in no particular order. i didn't take too many pictures, but you'll get the gist.

i was told my foot veins were too intense in this photo...

...so lindsey made me cover them up.

ten gold stars if you can guess where we are.

a successful mission. don't look too closely. there might be something in there for you.

the car was so jam-packed that my new little cacti friends had to take a ride on the wild side.

and here's one funny story/a question for you...

lindsey and mom gave me a hard time for taking my new antique store purchase along with me:

it's a piece of hartmann luggage from the 1940s that i'm using as a purse/camera bag. leather and tweed.

it's monogrammed (AMR)

and came with two of the cutest keys i've ever seen tucked away in the pocket.

oh, and it was $7.

anywho, back to the story.

i'm carrying this bag around and we're in the really ritzy part of the mall (think louis vuitton, kate spade, etc.). we're walking out of tory burch when two of the sales ladies tell me how much they love my "vintage piece." their words, not mine. then the male customer they were helping tells me that the bag looks like a hartmann.

you guys, it hartmann, like, a thing? i'm feeling like i bought a cool brand, or something, but i don't really know. i received so many complements on this bag that it's giving me an ego.

what do you know about 1940s vintage hartmann luggage (holy hell, the letter 'g' pops up a lot in the word 'luggage')? is it cool? is it lame?

if it's lame, let me down easy. otherwise i don't think my inflated ego could handle it.
