really, pottery barn?

i'm telling ya, PB commits highway robbery.

i took pictures of the catalog because i'm pretty tech savy.

these distressed frames are $129. really, pottery barn? i'd much rather buy a new outfit (or two) and pick up some thrift store frames for a few bucks to distress myself.

this fillable glass lamp is $149. really, pottery barn? i'd rather spend $43 (plus a few bucks more for a shade) on this target version:

i love fillable lamps because you can shove just about anything you want up the base. it would look particularly awesome filled with a bunch of osage oranges:


as much as pottery barn's pricing annoys me, i must admit that the catalog is a great source of inspiration. i've wanted to wallpaper a room in my house with old book pages for a while now and this picture featured in the latest catalog solidifies my decision to do so:

how cute is this? i want do copy this look for my half bath/laundry room. obviously it's waaaaay low on the list of priorities, but a girl can dream.

right?
