more tales from the sales.

what a glorious weekend in west michigan. the sun was out, the temperature was perfect and the garage sales were plentiful. on saturday, emily, baby xavier and i ventured out to try our luck at a few garage sales in the area. the pickings were slim, but we managed to walk away with a few purchases under our belts.

i picked up a couple of these canada dry palettes. one is being used to hold various vases with blooms and greens from around my yard. the peonies and rhododendrons are rocking my world. the other palette is being used as a make shift boot tray.

thank goodness i had emily with me. she spied a big box filled with reader's digest books and knew they were right up my alley. it helps to shop with people who know you so well. i guess it also hurts. depends on how much you want to spend. a little later in the day, i got a text from my friend melissa (the same melissa who made my awesome gerty canvas) who said her mom found another box of reader's digests for me for a whopping 50 cents. thanks, mrs. mcdonald!

and i didn't get a picture of it, but emily walked away with an adorable little outdoor rocking chair that xavier can use when he gets a little older. all it needs is a fresh coat of spray paint and it will almost be as cute as xavier. almost.
