birthday brag.

the birthday fairy brought me a birthday gift! well, part of a gift because it's an expensive gift.

i have absolutely no idea how to use my canon rebel t1i. YET. i've been boning up on this bad boy and plan to practice, practice, practice. gerty is already sick of it, so i'm going to have to find a new subject asap.

whilst rummaging through my junk closet for a camera case (it's time to clean out the junk closet if you know that you can find a camera case in there), i stumbled across my camera stash. yes, i have a camera stash. i vow to NOT send my pretty little rebel to the camera stash.

here's the stash. my new baby is on the right. the minolta in the back was a hand me down from my dad that he stumbled across when he was cleaning out his old office. it takes good old fashioned film, so i rarely use it. as in, i used it once when while we were on family vacation. the holga is a fun little guy. it's a toy camera that i bought in high school that really only takes pictures outside. you never know what to expect from this camera because it's so cheap. but that's part of the appeal. it's always a surprise when you develop a roll of film. i don't have any of my own holga pictures scanned to show you, but here are some examples:

i haven't done anything with the holga in a while, but seeing these photos makes me want to.

apparently jumbo images are par for the course today. anywho, my go to camera is my canon phowershot. i will continue to throw this camera in my purse for on the go photo opportunities. she's served me well these past few years.

please be patient with me while i learn how to use my new camera. i am really excited to show you all of my new pictures. even the crappy ones. and trust me, there will be crappy ones. do any rebel users have any advice for me? i'm like a sponge right now. the more info you can throw at me, the better. giveittome.
