they don't teach you how to handle these situations in teacher school.

last night one of our basketball players, wes leonard, collapsed and died after scoring the game-winning basket in overtime to bring the team's record to 20-0. wes' mother is a fellow teacher at fennville high school.

we are wounded.

we are bleeding.

i don't know why this is god's plan for wes, but it's not my job to know. i do know that the tiny community of fennville, michigan cares for its own. they have been incredible. i am so proud to be a blackhawk, but it is a sad day to be a blackhawk.
