super simple bib necklace.

happy VD, ya'lls. for those of you who are STD free, that's valentine's day. for those of you who are associated with the other form of VD, well, you should get that checked out. i wanted to send you each a hand-made valentine, but i stayed up too late watching the grammys. did you see gaga? i love her, but homegirl is crazy. because i didn't get the chance to send you a valentine, i'd like to make it up to you. consider it a cyber valentine.

have you checked out aletha at artstar? if not, you should. she posted this anthro inspired necklace tutorial and it really could not be any easier to recreate. it took me five minutes. literally.

i was able to take this (which i already had jammed in a junk drawer):

and turn it into this:

aletha gives a great tutorial, so i won't recreate the wheel, but really all you need for this project is a glue gun, a doily, a chain of some sort and any pretty little trinkets you would feel comfortable displaying around you neck. buttons, flowers, old earrings, beads, sea glass, coins, etc.
so do you forgive me? will this tutorial suffice? it has far fewer calories than candy, so you're welcome.

  1. I read Aletha's blog too! A few weeks ago I made the Refashioned t-shirt necklace - super easy and cute!
