in other hoarding related news, the holland branch of the home depot is going out of business, so if you need any home improvement supplies, stock up now. we were discussing this in the teachers' lounge yesterday and a co-worker mentioned that the lumber would probably be sold out soon. my inner hoarder started screaming at me to go stock up on lumber immediately. i've never purchased a piece of lumber in my life, but i get all twitchy when i think about the fact that if i happen to need a 2x4 in the near future, i'll have to pay full price because i didn't take advantage of a sale when i had the chance. is that normal? do we all have a little hoarder in us, or is it just me?
i did take steps to reduce my fabric scrap collection last night (suck it, inner hoarder!) and did a quickie craft based on this blog post. and by 'quickie' i'm talking like 30 minutes. it's also an uber cheap craft. i had all of the fabric scraps already, and i was able to pick up the hoops at goodwill for 50 cents total. my original intent was to add some color to a naked wall in my bedroom, like this:

it's better, but still not great. i don't think this wall will be its permanent home, but it will do for now. also, please excuse gerty in this snap. she was sleeping and i told her to move, but all she did was open her laser eyes and shoot death beams at me.
stay warm, guys. i'll try to do the same, but if you don't hear from me by next week it's because i'm dead. cause of death: midol overdose.
Working right next to HD, I have had the urge to go buy wood myself every day since they started the sale. I actually have a project I need wood for (a play fridge) but I don't know what I'm looking for exactly... but yes, know you're not alone in the hoarder thought of picking up wood :)
ReplyDeletei love gerty in that pic!!
