fair is fair.

when i was growing up, if my brothers got something, i typically did, too. if i got something, they usually did, too. for example, my parents bought my older brother a computer for his high school graduation present, so when i graduated from high school, i got a computer, too. smell what i'm steppin' in?

well, fair is fair. since i got a new big girl bed, gerty got one, too.

am i the only one who has had a dickens of a time finding a dog bed? there are a ton of them out there, but i've found they typically have at least one of three problems:

  • too expensive (especially if your dog is a lady of size like gertrude). i like these a lot, but i'm not willing to pay 45 dolla dolla bills ya'll for just the duvet cover. you don't even get the pillow.

  • too ugly. if you have a dog bed that takes up a big chunk of floor space, you want to make sure it doesn't make said floor space look like nasty crap.

  • not washable. sorry, call me cheap (it wouldn't be the first time), but i'm not willing to pay for a dog bed that can't be cleaned. my dog is not a clean dog. do they even exist?

the bed that i settled on is from tj maxx. it was originally $65, but marked down to $30. i also had $25 store credit from a dress i returned about two years ago. when all is said and done, i only paid about 6 bones for this giant bed. not too shabby. plus, the cover is removable and machine washable, which makes washing gerty's stank away much easier.

so how is gerty girl liking her new bed?

let's just say she's having a hard time letting go of her old "bed." it was hard for me, too, gerty.

if any dog owners are reading this, what are your thoughts on dog beds? a waste of money? well worth the investment? do tell.
