an illness.

call it an illness. a sickness. a disease. whatever. call it whatever you want, but i have it.

i buy tops like a fiend but cannot seem to find a decent pair of pants. one of these days you'll find me walking the streets wearing a sweater and my underoos. and that won't be a fun experience for any of us. i blame this disease on a couple of different things. first, i am definitely pear shaped, which means i have hips that don't quit. my legs, on the other hand, quit after about 6 inches. having stumps for legs makes it difficult to dress your lower half. i've heard long-legged ladies complain about the difficulties of finding pants, too. but somehow i don't feel sorry for them. go take your gisele bundchen legs and shove it. secondly, it's difficult to find pants because there are so many cute tops out there. different necklines, patterns, fabrics, etc. for me, pants fall into one of two categories: jeans and work pants (aka not denim).

as soon as my trunk loses some of its junk, i'd love to slip into these:

madewell's salt & pepper slouch pants.

humphrey flared jeans by james jeans.

the minnie by j.crew. fun fact: this is my all-time favorite pant. the folks at j.crew say it flatters all figures. i, however, am living proof that they do not.

walking dusk paperbag pants by ruche.

these were the only pants i found that i would wear. and i searched the entire internet. that's how much i hate pants.

do you have any good sources for pants? if you're not too secretive, pray tell.

  1. I as well have short legs. I am a HUGE fan of anything AG makes. Especially the stevie and tomboy. I find both at Jbandme or AKA in Grand Rapids. sometimes you can score deals on them at nordstrom racks. If it isn't AG then I usually stick to dresses.
