this blog post is brought to you by the birthday of katie walsh. happy birthday to one of my oldest, dearest besties! although hundreds of miles separate us, birthdays call for celebration. and crafts. thankfully, birthday cards represent a harmonious marriage of the two.

a few thoughts on hand made cards:
i like to buy blank, natural colored cards. they're really versatile and look great for many different occasions.
invest in a map or two. by 'invest' i mean buy them for very cheap at garage sales or thrift stores.
the simpler, the better. i prefer to receive cards that show art and emotion in the words, rather than the images on the card. but i guess that's personal preference.
i also think it's important to know that i enjoy making cards and always have the best intentions of doing so, but i usually forget to do so. if i have forgotten to send you a card on your birthday, my sincerest apologies.
forgive me?
Sarah! I love that! I can't wait to get it. :) You are such a thoughtful friend. I wish we lived closer so we could see each other more often. I loved catching up on the phone today though. Thanks for the birthday wishes and for remembering to say hi to Tim...he misses you too and wants to know when you are coming to visit again. We're coming over 4th of July to see you.
