are there any andy rooney fans in the house? you know, the grumpy old man at the end of 60 minutes who has a uvula-looking flap of skin on his upper lip that we rays refer to as the 'lipula'? that andy rooney.

here are andy's thoughts on june:

June is the only month that has a bug named after it. There’s no July bug or August bug.

It’s warm enough so you don’t need a coat, but it’s not so hot that you need air-conditioning.

The name is good to write because we don’t use any ugly, truncated abbreviations as we do for Feb., Sept. or Oct.

May and June are names used by women as a first name, unless you count April. April is a name a press agent gives a young woman who wants to be an actress.

No one who doesn’t live there has to go to Florida this month.

You don’t have to rake leaves or shovel snow.

andy make some good points, but he neglected to mention some other fine things that june has going for it.

*it's my birth month. and i loooves me my birthday.

*june plays host to some lesser known, yet very awesome holidays including candy month, dairy month, national accordion awareness month, and turkey lovers month.

*flag day takes place on june 14th. it's like the 4th of july's equally patriotic, but less braggy cousin.

*my bithday is on june 8th

*june marks the beginning of my summer vacation. this summer, i vow to: bake more, exercise often, relax when necessary, and take on projects like a mad woman.
