less thinking. more doing.

i've done a pretty poor job keeping my love affair with pinterest a secret. a love like ours simply needs to be shared.

when i first registered for pinterest, i thought i'd treat the website like i treat catalogs: i'd find lots of cute things, file them under the "oh, i'll never buy it" category, and move on with my life leaving the cute finds to shrivel up and die. but that hasn't happened! i'm actually doing the things that i've pinned.

pinterest inspired products i've purchased:

i haven't used these yet, but i am very excited to do so.

this was a splurge. ah well.

lindsey looked at my pinterest board and bought these for my birthday. you're a clever one, lins.

pinterest inspired food i've tried:

these cupcakes were so good. so good.

this pizza was just okay. it looked great, but i came to the conclusion that i like my pizza like i like my men: saucy. i think?

and some other pinterest odds and ends that i've tackled:

thanks to this photo, my cupcake wrappers are now housed on my counter in a similar glass jar.

i suppose i shouldn't take credit for this since i've outsourced the project to my mom, but i will. freaking friday night lights. texas forever.

thank you, pinterest for forcing me to put my money where my mouth is and actually DO some of the pretty little things smeared all over my computer screen. you're a doll.

what about you? what are some of your favorite pinterest activities/finds. do you have any recommendations? pray tell.

  1. I have done three of my pins: I made a pizza bread that wasn't too great. I watched Kari serve our kids hairy hot dogs (the hot dogs with spaghetti through them - cute, but not super tasty I don't think). My best pinterest find was the father's day gift I made this year with Leila's handprints and Stella's toeprints into a tree - as seen here http://believegrace.blogspot.com/2011/06/happy-fathers-day.html

  2. cute, abby! even though the hot dogs weren't tasty, i'm sure the kids got a kick out of them.

  3. I have made a faux built in with ikea billy bookcases and some scratch off cards. I have also bought the supplies to make a couple of things I found too but haven't done them yet!

And I just found you and I am following you! Oooh...that kinda sounds stalkerish! Ha ha! :^ )
