they're up.
ANDthey're great.

i installed the suzani print curtains that i picked up at world market a few days ago. although i endured a vigorous mental wrestling match trying to decide which curtains to purchase, i'm glad i went with the suzani. they add a nice punch of color to the clean, gray walls. well, semi-clean. gerty's busted tail keeps smearing blood all over them when she whacks her tail on the walls. and she
always whacks her tail on the walls.

did i mention i'm still trying to figure out how to use my camera? apparently i suck at understanding lighting. eh.

check out the deets. i can definitely work with these colors.
and coming soon to a dining room near you...er...me:

this bicycle decal is currently making its way to 33rd street. however, the butterflies will not be making an appearance. sorry, butterflies, but i'm trying to keep my home a bug-free environment. i don't spend beau coup bucks on flea treatments for nothing.
a word on wall decals: i have very mixed feelings. i've seen them used in ways that make me love them and i've seen them used in walls that make me want to vom all over them. that being said, i really hope i don't want to vom all over the bicycle. fingers crossed.
some decals i like:

a cute little pop of retro color is a nice touch. keeping in mind less is more.

a fun little surprise on a windowsill or above a light switch is unexpected and cute.
there are also some decals that should be avoided (in my humble opinion):

when it comes to selecting a wall decal, anything with exposed chesticles is unwelcome. if those exposed lady bits are perched on top of a horse, that should help solidify the "no." and who just drops their suitcase in front of the fridge? i love my food, but day-um.

i'm over the quotes all over the home look. if you have a family, i'm automatically going to assume you love them. no need to make me read all about it. we might need to agree to disagree on this one, but i'm willing to do so. i do, however, still enjoy quote decals in a kid's room. call me fickle.

and sometimes less is more. this poor kid's parents are going to be devastated when he tells them he's into rhythmic gymnastics.
i'll make sure to update you when i put up my bicycle. if i don't like it, perhaps you'd like to buy it from me? i suppose we'll have to wait and see.
LOVE the curtains!
