i'm about to stir the pot a bit. by the end of this post, you may find that your pulse has quickened and your blood is boiling. but that is what a good blogger does. she tackles the sensitive issues that nobody else wants to discuss. she rips away the chains of bondage that society has placed upon us all and uses said chains to DIY a bangin' chandelier. she is not afraid to discuss the topic that has divided society like moses divided the red sea. the issue that i will, nay, must discuss today is this:

can you wear black and brown together?

ohmygosh, it feels so good to say that out loud. now that the issue is out there in the open, let's discuss. i know people who belong to both teams. team "black and brown absolutely do not go together" and team "black and brown is hawt." while i respect the opinion of both teams, i am definitely a member of the latter. that being said, i do think there are a few key points to keep in mind when trying to pull off the look (a look, by the way, which i don't wear too often simply because i don't own a lot of black or brown...but i always love the look).

break up some of the black and brown with a solid color or a bold pattern. the solid white blouse under that brown jacket does the trick nicely.

make sure your black looks black and your brown looks brown. sometimes brown and black can get dingy and you have to squint to really tell if the shade is black or brown.

if you aren't to confident about pairing black with brown, you could always try to ease into it with more of a camel color.
