were you ready for some football?

i did it! i watched my first ENTIRE professional football game from kick-off to kick-end (is that a thing?). the puppybowl was way cuter than the superbowl. example: watching slow motion replays of puppies tackling one another is way easier than watching slow motion replays of large men flopping on the ground. have you ever noticed how wavy butt cheeks become when they are smothered in spandex and moving incredibly slowly? it's really weird.

in honor of the most macho and gluttonous day of the year, i got together with my siblings to watch the game, stuff my face, and make fun of xtina aguilera's national anthem oopsie. the menu included buffalo chicken dip, spinach and artichoke dip (i'm not sure what recipe lindsey used for this one), pizza rolls, peanut butter brownie sundaes (the ice cream had little caramel-filled footballs in it...i'm a sucker for a theme), and the star of the show: bobby flay's throwdown soft pretzels. rich and lins had made the pretzel dough prior to our arrival, but my little brother and i were able to partake in the pretzel formation process.

please help settle a family dispute. in the photo above, which pretzel is the most pretzel-like? in other words, which ray is the grand champion of pretzel twisting? we need some unbiased opinions. choose wisely.

roxy got in on the superbowl action, too, by accurately predicting that the packers would win. i won't pretend that i know anything about football, so i based my win prediction solely on which team had the best looking quarterback. hellooooo, aaron rodgers.
