please excuse the kitchen. this snap was snapped the week i moved in, but you can see how there is a lot of wood and tile and not so much space to hang a clock. right now i have a wall clock that leans against the wall on the counter next to the stove. it falls over all the time, so i need to be careful not to breathe too hard.
one possible solution to my kitchen clock dilemma is a side mounted wall clock. although this style is typically reserved for the great outdoors, i like the idea of bringing this look inside. here's a few different models that i'm diggin':

my favorite is the pottery barn version. i'd slap that puppy on the wall right next to the cupboard on the left side of the kitchen photo. i need to start saving my pennies, though, if i plan on forking over the 99 bucks that pottery barn wants for it. highway robbery, i tell ya.
really, what are you supposed to do if you have NO wall space in your kitchen? nail a clock into your cupboard? no thanks. other ideas are encouraged. on behalf of my cupboards, thank you in advance.
I use appliance clocks in the kitchen, save the cool clock for the dining room.
ReplyDeletei could make you a clock.
ReplyDeleteis your kitchen big enough to make a two-sided side-mounted wall clock visible, or would you have to move or crane your neck to read it?
whats in the crook of the ceiling above the sink/window?
jeremy, you are a man of many skills. i would hang the clock in the hall connecting the kitchen to the back entryway. that way i would have a clear view of it from pretty much every room. the crook of the ceiling above the sink houses wood. it's a bit tricky to explain, but the cupboard wood expands up and onto the ceiling. it feels like a tree fort.
ReplyDeleteabby, i toyed around with the idea of putting it in the dining room, but i usually look at the clock from my bathroom (when running late), and i can't see it from the dining room. i think the kitchen/hall is the best bet.
